Anjums Studio

The paintings I create are my connections to any city, mountain or coast I visit. I’m fascinated by the everlasting relationship I have with every place I visit, even if in passing, even if just once and even if I never go back there again. In some ways, my paintings are a snapshot of a moment in time.

 

I associate urbanscapes, landscapes and places with color & texture and draw extensively from the dynamic rhythm of the nature that surrounds them and strive to re-create that rhythm on the canvas by building a “connection” between the  language of abstraction and my perception of the subject. I desire to create and capture earthy textures, bright bold colors and rich subtle layers of color in my works.
